Mission Statement
The mission of the New Jersey Society of Independent Physical Therapists, Inc. (“the Society” or “NJSIPT”) is to; advocate for, promote, and protect the independent practice of Physical Therapy in the State of New Jersey. To fulfill this mission, the Society will investigate and utilize all legal, regulatory, and professional means of doing so. Membership in the Society is by application. Limiting ownership of physical therapy services to licensed physical therapists will protect the integrity of these professional services, and ensure accountability for them to consumers.
Joining the NJSIPT is the best way to help bolster our efforts on behalf of ALL Independent physical therapists. With the support of our membership - we are the pre-eminent voice fostering positive change for Independent PT Practitioners in New Jersey.
Presently, the NJSIPT has identified several areas of concern that directly impacts the Practice of Independent Physical Therapists.
· The continued decline in and inadequacy of third party coverage for Physical Therapy benefits
· The cumbersome authorization process required of practitioners to provide care for patients
· The infringement of Non-Physical Therapist Owned facilities and providers on the practice of Physical Therapy has continued unchecked
